Dr. P. Vijaya has been working in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Modern College of Business and Science since January 2020. Before joining Modern College, she was employed at Waljat College of Applied Sciences from October 2004 to December 2021. She was awarded Best Head of Department, Academics at Waljat College, based on a 360-degree evaluation. She has more than 25 years of experience in academia. Dr. Vijaya earned her Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Trichy, an M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from MIT, Manipal, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from Karpagam Academy of Higher Education. In 2019, she received the prestigious Prof. Indra Parekh Women Education Leader Award. She has organized international conferences, special sessions in international conferences, symposiums, tech fests, workshops, guest lectures, and summer programs. Dr. Vijaya plays a leading role in the activities organized by the college and has received letters of appreciation and awards for her time management and dedication to her tasks. Her publications are primarily in SCI and Scopus-indexed journals. She also serves as a reviewer for international journals and conferences, and is an editor and guest editor for several journals. Her research areas include information retrieval and machine learning.
